Lotta Köhler (1993) is a Finnish graphic designer and illustrator based in Oslo. She holds a BA in textile design from Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, as well as a BA in graphic design from Oslo National Academy of Arts (KHiO).
During her education, she developed a keen interest in exploring complicated topics through book projects. A prime example of this is her Bachelor thesis project, a book titled “Alt håp er ut – Conversations on Friluftsparadokset”. Through interviews with professors in Nordic literature, sustainability consultants and documentary filmmakers, the book examines the environmental impact of “friluftsliv”, and the paradoxical relationship Norwegians have with nature.
Afterwards, her experience as art director at D2 and Dagens Næringsliv, as well as collaborations with media houses and publishers such as Helsingin Sanomat and Cappelen Damm, deepened her interest in printed media.
